Rainbow Ridge Prosperity (Introduction)

Welcome to Rainbow Ridge Prosperity!
My last Prosperity hood made it to generation
3 before my computer died, and although I
recreated most of them through simPe,
it just wasn’t fun anymore; they didn’t hold
the same magic they had before.
So, I’m starting fresh!
I also posted this at Freewebs HERE,
cause it looks so pretty there.
The Marsh Family

Emily Marsh is a single Mom with four daughters.
Sadly, she has never been in love or experienced
the joys of woohoo. You see, Emily was raised in
”the system”, being passed from foster home to
foster home.
As soon as she turned 21 she began the mountain
of paperwork (ie made a quick phonecall)
that would enable
her to adopt children that were like her; lost in
the system. Emily is a Pleasure Sim, who just wants
to Become a Game Designer, and her OTH is Dance.

The girls are a little reserved around each other,
but they’ll be a regular old family in no time, I’m sure.

The oldest daughter is Sara, who is a neat Virgo
(is there any other kind of Virgo?). Her only friend
at the moment is Goopy Gilscarbo, which is kind
of sad, really.

Hannah is quite playful, lazy and neat. She’s a
Capricorn who loves Cuisine. Sounds like a personal
ad, right? Well, not yet, that will come later.

The youngest is Lee. She is a playful, nice Aquarius
who loves Nature. She hasn’t learned one single
toddler skill, but has managed to get four charisma
skill points, mostly due to neglect. The charisma
bunny was the only thing she could reach on her own.

Christine is the most outgoing of all the Marsh children.
She has been to nearly every house on the cul-de-sac,
but hasn’t made friends with any of them yet.
She’s a lazy, sloppy, Libra, which annoys her
neater sisters.

Nothing exciting happened at the Marsh house on the
first round, if you don’t count passing out and being
in the red constantly. Lee managed to grow up, but
not well. The first thing I had her do was catch up
on her sister’s homework. Emily got a job in the
Criminal career track, and that’s about it. No new
friends or romances in the works yet.
The Mullins Family

Michael Mullins is a handsome widower
who has come to Rainbow Ridge to escape
painful memories. He’s an Aries, and a Family
sim, who only wants to marry off
six children one day.

Ok, so he has a little temper,
but see, he isn’t all that bad!

Ok, maybe a tad inappropriate….

And rude! He had better learn to like
Dagmar soon, cause she’s the one I picked
for him. He is very outgoing, and mean, so he
has to take any friends he can get.

His oldest daughter Susie is also mean and
outgoing. She is better suited to her aspiration
however, as a Romance sim.

She is a good “mother figure” for her sister Tricia, though.
Tricia is a typical Virgo, and like the other girls on the
block, she has yet to make a friend.

Joshua is serious and shy, and actually likes to play
with his younger brother, Kevin. Joshua and Kevin
are the only siblings who are friends, so far.

Kevin is a cutie, but is also a mean little Scorpio who
is always in the red!!

His Grandpa Thomas doesn’t mind though, and
always takes good care of him.

When he’s home, that is. Thomas is a Fortune sim,
so he had to get a job right away, leaving Michael
to actually care for his youngest during the day.

You can see how well that turned out, and how caring
his Dad really is.

But like I said, Michael’s not all that bad, he can get
down and boogie, or smustle, with the best of them.
Joshua’s a pretty good dancer already, he’s got
the moves!

Surprisingly (NOT), Tricia isn’t doing so well in school.
It appears to be an epidemic in the cul-de-sac, children
in the red who can’t bring their fun up. Apparently
they are ALL “not in the mood to do that right now!”,
preferring to complain about the lack of fun rather
than, oh, I dunno, actually doing something FUN!

Thankfully the adults in the house aren’t as hard
to please. Although Thomas’ LTW is to have 6 pets
reach the top of their career, which probably won’t
happen in his short lifetime.

Somehow Kevin manages to grow up well, and
actually learned one skill, thanks to his Grandpa
Thomas. He now knows how to walk!

His older sister Susie, however, is always
breaking down. Seems Susie just isn’t quite
nice enough to get that first kiss. Guys run when
they see her coming down the street.
The Randolph Family

The Randolph family is a little complicated. Maria
and Robert are married with three daughters, but
due to Robert’s wandering eye and Romance sim
ways, they have separated.

Oldest daughter Millie stayed with her Mom and
younger sister Pammy. Millie is a friendly Aquarius,
who quickly made friends with Orlando Bertino.
She’s the only child in the neighborhood to befriend
another child outside of her own family.

Pammy is a shy, nice Cancer.
Pammy spam follows.

Ok, not so much. But she’s cute, no?

The poor thing was trying to sleep when my
obnoxious self sim kept barging in to critique
the mobile. (She gave it a thumbs down and a
raspberry, by the way)

Despite her family breaking up, Pammy
grew up extremely well, having learned
how to walk and use the potty, thanks
to her Mom, Maria.

See, still a cutie.

Maria has issues, and definitely plays favorites.
She refuses a friendly hug from daughter Millie.
Did I mention Maria was a Scorpio?

Thankfully, the girls get along very well, no
jealousy between them, yet.

Maria tries desperately to make some friends,
she is a Popularity sim with a LTW to Become
General. She’s gonna have to change her attitude
a bit though, before she can obtain that!
The “Other” Randolphs

Pammy’s twin sister Jessie picked the short stick
and ended up moving out with her skirt chasing
father.

I obviously find her adorable too, and have too
many unnecessary pics here to prove it.

Jessie uses the potty…

Jessie grows up well, having learned to use the
potty and walk from her now elderfied Daddy.

Like most of my sims kids, the first thing she
does is run for the fridge, very grateful she can
care for herself now.

She’s a serious little Scorpio, though, and her
only friend is her Dad.

She has more toys than any other home on the
block, and yet she prefers to read. Weirdo.

She brings home Christine Marsh from school,
but even though Christine is actually very nice,
the two don’t manage to become friends yet.

And speaking of the Marsh family, Robert, the
Romance Scorpio who wishes to have 20
simultaneous lovers (and who doesn’t?) tries to
hit on Emily, but despite the two bolts, she’s just
not interested. Yet.
The Boyd Family

The Boyd family is made up of Dad John and
his three children. Youngest child Shelley often
passes out from exhaustion on the floor in front
of her crib.

Luckily for her, oldest brother Ethan actually
has a heart and takes care of her when he can.

Like his neighbor Robert Randolph, John is a
Romance sim who wants 20 simultaneous lovers.
It’s apparently working for him though, he is a
chick magnet. He has three bolts with Melissa
Fancey and my sim self, hehe.

He also has a couple of bolts attraction with
Marylena Hamilton. Here she’s telling him
how hot he is, and he’s agreeing. “I am a work
of art!”

Teen son Nicholas is an outgoing Leo. He’s a
Popularity sim who wants to become a Celebrity
Chef. Too bad his OTH is music and dance.
I’m sure he’ll make it work somehow.

Ethan and Nicholas hate each other, for
reasons I have yet to discover. Ethan has
no skill points at all and is still managing to
nearly flunk out of school. Like his brother,
he’s Popularity, and wishes to become the
next Captain Hero. He’s a lazy Capricorn,
and tried and failed to befriend Meadow.
Seriously, does that ever happen?

Ethan’s lack of skill points nearly got him
killed trying to fix the TV, and to his credit,
his Dad John was worried, not laughing.

Dancing is the only thing that keeps Nicholas
smiling. He’s nearly flunking school too, and
also works part time as a Nursing Home Attendant,
since his Dad is still unemployed and they
need the money.

Dad has a job, though, collecting women so
he’ll be happy and easy to please when he’s older.
They follow him everywhere, swooning over
him constantly.

Somehow Shelley manages to grow up and
runs to the fridge to feed herself,
thankyouverymuchfornothing!

She tries to befriend neighbor Sara Marsh,
but Sara bails out at six o’clock on the dot,
leaving Shelley hanging. Shelley is another
Scorpio and is best friends with her Dad, John,
and brother Nicholas. Seems she has no loyalty
for all Ethan did for her as a toddler.

Did I mention I love Nicholas? I’m just happy
to have one nice extrovert in the ‘hood!
That’s it for round one and introductions.
I intend to play in “yearly” rounds, so will
probably have frequent, but short updates.
My last Prosperity challenge ended up getting
quite complicated to follow, even for me, so I’ll
see how this style works. Thanks for reading!!!!!!!

How exactly do you do a prosperity challenge? This sounds fun, so could you tell me the rules? I really want to try it out!!! lol

Of course! Here’s the link to the official site and rules:
http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/prosperity_challenge/files/Rules/
But basically you roll for a random number of families, roll for each family member (age, sex, aspiration, etc.–I even rolled for the looks!) Then you place them all in a new, empty neighborhood and play them each in rotation for a set amount of time so the whole hood ages together. It’s a great way to play!
